Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers are used for inline cooling or heating of low to medium viscous products. The heat exchangers consists of a bundle of small tubes within a large cylinder (or shell).

How it works

Through these tubes a product is pumped, where through the shell the heating or cooling medium is pumped in a counterflow. The mediums which can be used are: steam, hot water, ice water or glycol.

Inspectie & onderhoud

The Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers are fully made out of stainless steel, which make them suitable to use in hygienic applications like the food industry. Next to that, the heat exchangers are easily cleanable and drainable.

Because there are no moving parts, the machine is easy and cheap in maintenance. The tubes can also be easily inspected, because of two lids on both sides of the heat exchanger.

Processing high viscous products?

The Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers can be used for processing low to medium viscous products. When the viscosity of the product is too high, the tubes can become clogged which stops the flow and the heat transfer.
